New Details, Alleged Second Suspect Revealed in D4vd-Celeste Rivas Hernandez Case

New details have been revealed in the case of the missing 15-year-old, later identified as Celeste Rivas Hernandez, after a body was found in an impounded Tesla belonging to 20-year-old rapper d4vd.

Earlier this year, Rivas Hernandez’s body was discovered at a Hollywood tow yard after workers reported a strong odor coming from the car. TMZ notes that Rivas Hernandez was identified through a “Shhh…” tattoo on her right index finger; d4vd has the same matching tattoo. Her body was reportedly found wrapped in plastic and was so badly decomposed that it wasn’t fully intact.

New details have emerged; sources directly connected to the investigation told TMZ that Rivas Hernandez’s body had been frozen, and as a result, the L.A. County Medical Examiner may not be able to establish a cause of death. The medical examiner reportedly received the body in a horrible condition with limbs removed and cut into multiple pieces. The body parts were reportedly “partially frozen” and had been thawing out while in the trunk of d4vd’s Tesla.

Sources told TMZ the medical examiner is having trouble establishing an official manner or cause of death and “it will most likely be ‘undetermined.'” Even if the official cause of death is undetermined, sources said the LAPD’s robbery Homicide Division is viewing Rivas Hernandez’s death as a homicide and can move forward with an arrest.

Previously, d4vd was officially considered a suspect in Rivas Hernandez’s death, and now, a second suspect is believed to have helped d4vd dismember her body. On an episode of the “2 Angry Men” podcast, criminal defense attorney Mark Geragos said he knows the name of the second suspect, and authorities told him this person may have been involved “before, during, and after” Rivas Hernandez’s death.

Authorities are building a case against d4vd; investigators said the rapper took a trip to a remote area of Santa Barbara County in the middle of the night back in the spring, where he reportedly stayed for two hours. Rivas Hernandez was first reported missing last year in Riverside County, California — approximately 50 miles east of Los Angeles.

According to TMZ, Rivas’s mom said she was aware Rivas was dating someone named David, and the two had been seen together in the past.

d4vd has cancelled his remaining tour dates this year in wake of the homicide investigation.

The investigation remains ongoing.
