Grammy Award-winning artists Melissa Etheridge and Wynonna Judd have announced the “Raised On Radio Tour,” a 27-date co-headlining run across the United States.
The run is scheduled to kick off on June 24 in Vienna, VA, at the Wolf Trap. From there, the singers are set to make stops in cities such as Grand Junction, San Diego, Irvine, Seattle, Salt Lake City and Atlanta before wrapping up on September 11 in Allegan, MI, at the Allegan County Fair.
“I’ve spent my entire adult life onstage, but before any of that, I was just a girl sitting close to a radio speaker, hanging on every word,” Judd said in a statement announcing the tour. “‘Raised On Radio’ isn’t just a tour name – it’s my roots and wings.”
Judd said the songs she discovered through radio shaped both her life and her career as an artist. “The radio was my teacher, my comfort, my escape. The songs playing through that radio shaped me as a dreamer and an artist. This tour is about going back to that feeling and sharing it with you.”
Etheridge also reflected on the role radio played in shaping her musical influences.
“I was literally raised on the radio,” Etheridge said. “Growing up in Leavenworth I listened to WHB. They played every kind of music from rock and soul to R&B and country music. It helped shape me to become the versatile writer and musician that I am today.”
The artists also announced that $1 from every ticket sold will be donated to The Etheridge Foundation, which supports research into plant-based treatments for opioid use disorders, while another $1 per ticket will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Fans can register for early access to tickets and VIP packages for the “Raised On Radio Tour.” Artist presales begin March 10 at 10 a.m. local time, with the general onsale scheduled for March 13 at 10 a.m. local time.
