Live Nation Names 3,000-Capacity Singapore Venue Grange House, Sets 2027 Opening

Live Nation has named its long-planned 3,000-capacity Singapore venue Grange House and now expects the Orchard Road property to open by mid-2027, extending the timeline for a project that has faced repeated delays.

The company unveiled the Grange House name on August 31, describing the purpose-built venue as a new home for concerts, cultural events and community programming in Singapore’s Somerset district. 

Developed with support from the Singapore Tourism Board and in collaboration with Lendlease Global Commercial REIT, the venue will be available to Live Nation as well as other promoters and event organizers.

The mid-2027 opening date represents another shift in the timetable for the Grange Road development. The venue had most recently been expected to open in 2026, after previous schedules envisioned operations beginning years earlier.

Lendlease Global Commercial REIT won the tender for the former Grange Road car park site in 2020, with the redevelopment initially expected to begin operating in the second quarter of 2022. Subsequent plans moved the anticipated completion into late 2024 before the project was pushed into 2026.

Lendlease addressed those delays in an October 2024 response to investors, attributing the extended development process to a combination of site-specific complications and the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, including manpower shortages and higher construction costs.

The company also said the venue’s design had changed multiple times and that technical constraints, along with the specialized requirements of a live entertainment facility, eventually resulted in planning and development responsibility being transferred to Live Nation.

Under that arrangement, Live Nation became responsible for construction and its associated costs. Lendlease said at the time that the restructuring reduced its own investment below the project’s original S$10 million development cost and limited its exposure to additional construction cost increases.

The latest version of the venue is being designed by Blueprint Studio, Live Nation’s in-house venue design and development operation. Plans emphasize acoustics, sightlines and production capabilities intended to accommodate international touring acts, along with backstage facilities designed around artist and crew requirements.

Live Nation is positioning Grange House as a mid-sized option within Singapore’s live entertainment market, sitting between smaller club spaces and the city-state’s larger arenas and stadiums.

The company also said the venue will be open to all promoters and event organizers, rather than being limited exclusively to Live Nation-promoted events.

Beyond the main concert space, Grange House is expected to include a landscaped outdoor terrace, an all-day café and restaurant, and areas capable of hosting talks, podcasts and other programming. A walkway connecting the venue with the neighboring 313@Somerset shopping complex is planned to feature art installations, exhibitions and temporary activations.

“We continue to see enormous potential for live entertainment in Singapore, and Grange House is the next step in that journey,” Live Nation Singapore Managing Director Edward Liu said in announcing the venue.

The project comes as Live Nation continues adding and investing in venues across Asia and other international markets. Its regional activity has included development of the 1,500-capacity TIDES venue in Hong Kong and investment in Bangkok’s IMPACT Arena, part of a broader expansion of the company’s owned and operated venue portfolio.

Live Nation said earlier this year that it expected to spend approximately $800 million to $850 million globally on venue expansion and improvements during 2026.

No opening lineup or ticketing details have been announced for Grange House. The company’s current schedule calls for the venue to open by mid-2027.
