Barry Manilow Forced to Postpone Farewell Tour Amid Lung Cancer Surgery

Longtime performer Barry Manilow was set to head out on his farewell tour in January, however, the star has postponed the trek while he undergoes lung cancer surgery.

Manilow posted a statement on social media, noting that “my wonderful doctor ordered an MRI just to make sure everything was OK,” and “the MRI discovered a cancerous spot on my left lung that needs to be removed.”

“It’s pure luck (and a great doctor) that it was found so early,” Manilow explained.

“The bad news is that now that the Christmas A Gift of Love concerts are over, I’m going into surgery to have the spot removed,” he continued. “The doctors do not believe it has spread and I’m taking tests to confirm their diagnosis. So, that’s it. No chemo. No radiation. Just chicken soup and I Love Lucy reruns.”

Manilow plans to recover over the next month and will resume performances as a part of his Westgate Las Vegas residency across Valentine’s Day weekend and throughout 2026. The January shows have been rescheduled, spanning from February through April.

Those who purchased tickets for the January concerts will have their tickets honored for the rescheduled dates.

”I’m very sorry that you have to change your plans,” Manilow said. “Just like you, we were all looking forward to the January shows and hate having to move everything around.”
