AXS Becomes Official Ticketing Provider for Florida Theatre

The Florida Theatre in Jacksonville has selected AXS as its official ticketing partner under a new exclusive agreement announced Wednesday.

AXS will power the historic venue’s ticketing operations and provide its full range of ticketing and mobile services. The platform will allow customers to purchase, access, transfer and manage tickets through AXS Mobile ID.

The agreement also gives the Florida Theatre access to AXS data and analytics tools, integrated marketing capabilities, premium seating support and the company’s broader ticket distribution network.

Kevin Stone, interim president and vice president of programming at the Florida Theatre, said AXS would provide patrons with a “modern, secure, and convenient ticket-buying experience.”

Stone added that the technology would help the nonprofit venue operate more efficiently and improve communication with its audience. “Our goal is always to make attending a performance at the Florida Theatre as easy and enjoyable as possible,” Stone said in the partnership announcement.

AXS Vice President of Business Development Ali McCloud said the company would provide “flexible technology and tools” to support the theater and its customers. “We look forward to supporting the Theatre as it approaches its centennial and begins this next chapter,” McCloud said.

The deal expands AXS’ portfolio of independent venue clients in the United States. The AEG-owned ticketing company operates primary and secondary marketplaces and works with more than 1,600 sports and entertainment brands across North America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. Its clients include the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Coachella, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, The O2 and Stagecoach.

The Florida Theatre opened in downtown Jacksonville in 1927 as a venue for live performances and motion pictures. The 1,865-seat theater now presents more than 200 events annually, including concerts, comedy, ballet and community programming.

The venue completed an $8 million renovation in 2023 following the opening of a new member lounge in 2022. The project included upgrades to the theater’s seating, lobby, restrooms, lounges and building systems.

The Florida Theatre, the only remaining historic theater on Jacksonville’s Forsyth Street, will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2027.
